Liberego demo video

Liberego as it is today, in the development build.

The feature guide.

Scroll through the pages to see, at your own pace, what the project does today.

What the guide covers

  • Your world and manuscript together

World, book, chapter and scene in a single structure. Characters, places and events live in the Codex; their names light up in the text as you write, and a card shows the entry without leaving the scene.

  • Writing without noise

Focus mode, continuous writing with the whole chapter or book on a single page, and version history with side-by-side comparison.

  • Your story from other angles

Scene board, plot grid and timeline, to rearrange chapters and keep track of plot threads.

  • Find what you wrote

Keyword search across the manuscript, the Codex, notes and references, plus meaning-based search that finds the scene even when you don’t remember the exact words.

  • An assistant that doesn’t write for you

It points out continuity issues, loose ends and the goal–motivation–conflict trio, and builds an outline from your manuscript. AI is optional, only reads a book with your permission and never changes the text of your scenes.

  • From draft to book

Export to EPUB, DOCX and PDF, plus a print-ready PDF typeset in EB Garamond, with a two-page spread preview.

  • Your story stays with you

An encrypted vault on your computer, with no account required. Sync through a folder you choose, daily backups and one-click updates.

I want to test Liberego

Leave your name and email. When the testing round opens, your invitation will arrive there.

For now, Liberego runs on Windows.

The voice is still yours.

Writing is listening to what hasn’t found its words yet.

Some stories need time, quiet and a place to grow. Liberego was made to make room for that process: the sentence that hesitates, the chapter that changes shape, the idea that asks for one more try.

Paper inspires the atmosphere; the interface organizes the path. Nothing should compete for attention with what you want to say.

We don’t write for you. We look after the space so you can write.

  • Focus

Quiet is part of the tool. Less noise on the screen, so your attention stays on the text.

  • Privacy

Your writing belongs to you. Your books live in an encrypted vault on your computer, with no account required.

  • Continuity

Your pace comes first. Everything starts on your computer, with local work as the priority.

  • Literary warmth

The intimacy of paper and the tradition of books, brought into quiet, unobtrusive technology.

You write the story. Liberego builds the world.

  • Reverse worldbuilding

Liberego reads your text and builds, on your computer, a map of the facts: characters, places, objects and events.

    worldbuilding

  • Timeline

Each scene becomes a card. You see the whole book from above, on a board and a plot grid.

    timeline

  • Geography and maps

The app recognizes places in the text and each one gets a profile, with hierarchy and links between them.

What Liberego already does.

All of this works in the development build, and it’s what you’ll be testing.

The road to the MVP.

Local-first is already demonstrated in the development build. Still to come are the official announcement and the reviews for the public release. After that come Studio, Web and the ecosystem, with no dates yet.

  • Local-first

An encrypted vault on your computer, with no account required.

  • Official announcement

The public announcement, when the project leaves development.

  • Polish

Reviewing and polishing what already exists, before the public release.

  • Liberego Studio

The next project, after the public release.

  • Liberego Web

The project after that, following Studio.

  • Ecosystem

    The wider whole, after Web.

What’s ahead.

Liberego grows in stages, and testers help decide the order. No promised dates: each stage ships when it’s ready and validated.

  • Public release for Windows

An app you download and install that updates itself. Beta testing is the road there.

  • Beta readers in the browser

Send a version of your book to invited readers. They read in the browser, even on their phones, and comment right on the passage; the text travels encrypted and you can revoke access whenever you want.

  • Simulated reading

AI-simulated readers, each with its own lens (pacing, characters, consistency), give a first impression of the scene, always pointing to the passage. It’s experimental, and testers’ opinions decide whether it stays.

  • Notes from your phone

Jot down an idea on your phone and it reaches the Notebook on your computer, encrypted. The manuscript never goes to your phone.

  • Hyphenation for print

Portuguese hyphenation in the print PDF interior, decided based on a real printed proof.

How testing will work.
